On 18 August 2026, NavCore officially opened its Inertial Navigation Laboratory in Yongjia County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, where Zhejiang NavCore Innovations Technology Co., Ltd. is based. The laboratory is dedicated to the research, development and industrialisation of MEMS inertial navigation chips.
Built around WAG-Ring technology
The laboratory works on NavCore’s independently developed WAG-Ring (whole-angle ring resonator) full-angle mode solution. According to a report by the Wenzhou Evening News, it is the first laboratory in China to industrialise WAG-Ring full-angle mode high-precision inertial navigation chips, and key indicators such as bias stability and scale factor accuracy are benchmarked against mainstream international levels.
As reported by the Wenzhou Daily, the first-generation WAG-Ring chip achieves a bias stability of 1–3°/h and is already in small-batch production, while the second generation targets 0.25°/h.
Why inertial navigation matters
An inertial navigation chip works like a “cerebellum” for intelligent equipment. It does not rely on satellite or base-station signals, so a device can still determine its position, heading and attitude in tunnels, indoors or between tall buildings. This makes it a key component for UAVs, intelligent vehicles and industrial robots.
Shorter lead times for customers
Overseas high-end inertial navigation chips can have lead times of up to seven months. NavCore can shorten product delivery to 4–6 weeks, giving customers a cost-effective alternative to imported high-end IMUs with more predictable supply.
Talent and partnerships
During the ceremony, PhD and Master’s innovation stations were also inaugurated, creating a platform for industry–academia–research collaboration and talent development. Several batches of strategic cooperation, procurement, and investment and financing agreements were signed with industry partners and financial institutions.
Roadmap
NavCore plans to complete the laboratory and finalise its first batch of products this year, reach scaled mass production by the third year, and complete a full portfolio of high-precision, automotive-grade and industrial-grade products by the fifth year.
